why are there so few lesbians clubs in the united states? I have been to Philly New York and also DC the is only one or two lesbian club in these major cities, same thing on the other states ,I have friends in germany and switzerland and amsterdam they say you can have your pick of clubs.either the lesbian community need to step up their game or where going to have to share clubs with the boys. I live in Chicago, and there are a few lesbian bars here, but most of our gay clubs are dedicated to the boys. I have to agree with the commenter who said going out to bars isn't really part of lesbian culture here in the U.S. Most of my lesbian friends like to go out for a glass of wine or to a concert and then head home. There's a very strong sense of domesticity among lesbians, at least in this country, and I don't think the club scene fits in with that. I would also add that, here in the U.S., many of our "gay" bars are open to all genders and orientations. I know of a few gay bars I would never walk into as a lesbian, but for the most part, everyone's invited to the party. I understand that in some other countries, this isn't always the case. So maybe that's why other nations have more lesbian-only bars than the U.S.
